In May, we will hold two Central Fires. Details are below.
The theme for both events is "Eucatastrophes" in our lives. J.R.R. Tolkien invented the term to describe the ebbs and flows of his story arcs. The "Eu" means good in Greek. A Eucatastrophe is a life event that appears to be catastrophic but, with time, turns into something good. Getting fired from a job to only then find your dream work; someone breaking off a relationship and then you find your soulmate; a challenging medical diagnosis that becomes the stimulus for you to explore and find what is most meaningful to you. These are all examples of difficulties that open doors to new possibilities that would never have been available had it not been for the "bad" event.
8 PM EDT (US) on May 23rd
3 PM EDT/8 PM GMT (Europe & Britain) on May 25th
Your stories can be a minute long or up to five minutes. And they don't have to be polished. This is not a performance but rather a heartfelt sharing of your experiences.
We hope this venue will spawn live events worldwide, bringing people together for no other reason than to connect heartfully by listening to and telling stories about our life experiences. Join us to listen, and when you’re ready, move closer to the fire to share your treasured tales.
